SHOPPING! SHOPPING! SHOPPING!

Thanks to my maternity leave I have been spending some time at, which should have been home, but ended up in shopping malls, coffee shops and socializing with good friends... Which, in a way, is a good thing. I have rediscovered my love for shopping (sorry bank account!!!) and Lila is such a super cool shopping buddy. So I had this new idea: Whenever I find something awesome in the shops and I can afford to buy it, I will share my new find (hopefully it will be some awesome bargain) with you. You might just like it a lot!!!

So without keeping you waiting, I will start with this precious little wood crafted couple... I just couldn't resist (and I will probably say this every time after I have bought something), but look at this!!! I think... A perfect wedding gift, obviously to a couple who will appreciate the simplicity and art.

Shop: Blaauwklippen Wine Farm Family Market, Stellenbosch.

Our wedding...

...filled with fun colourful moments...

I have to admit... I will always remember the fun we had looking at these photographs.
Try beat this much fun with colour!!!

Our wedding...

...filled with detail and love...

I thrive on detail. Sometimes I am such a pain in the ass! I make my life more complicated then it should be and create more work for myself – but the end result and attention to detail makes it worth while.

For those who also love detail, all I want to say is... thank you – thank you for noticing.

Our wedding...

...filled with such special, innocent moments...

These are my favorite photographs. They contain so much emotion that it brings tears to my eyes. I feel a pain in my heart, not because I am sad or unhappy, but because I have the privilege to feel and experience intense love...

I look at the photograph of Sarel waiting for me in the church and he looks so vulnerable and innocent (obviously coping with an emence load of thoughts, stress, excitement and maybe a little bit of sadness all at once). Sadness of a dear loved one who passed away just a few months before our wedding – someone who looked forward to our wedding and couldn’t stop talking about it... and sadness about the support he didn’t get from people he really needed it from. In moments like these you discover your true family and friends – not necessarily the ones you spend the most time with.

Our wedding pics...

Finally, some of our wedding pics are on Marchands’ website! I don’t have words... It is beautiful! Wow Marchand, your talent is amazing! Quit your job and follow your heart. Any bride and groom will be so blessed to have you as their photographer. Friends, mark my words... “Marchand de Goede” will soon be a very well known name in photography circles.

So... May I please be the first to have your signature?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Wedding bells!!!

Yes... Sarel and I are finally married!!! I am a “van Biljon”! I still need to practice my new signature and constantly need to remind myself that my surname has changed. It is a very special feeling... difficult to describe, but the thought is very cool and makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I can’t believe the time has gone by so fast. We had an absolute blast! Our wedding day was perfect. Even though the wind almost blew us away, I realized that not even the worst snow storm could have spoiled our special day.

It’s such an overwhelming feeling to see your best friends and family all dressed up, super excited, and ready with their camera’s for our special day! Sarel and I had a real eye opening experience – thanks to our friends... true friends.

Now we are waiting in anticipation for our wedding pictures and video... I think it is going to be awesome!

Make-up trail

Carla P and I went for our make-up trail. What an awesome outing... Laughter, wine, chatting, wine, fun, ... did I mention wine? We were treated like royalty, felt like princesses and we definitely looked the part – just short of the ball gown dress and magic glass slippers… Thank you Bella and Carla K! I really didn’t feel like washing my face that evening, just wanted to be a Sleeping Beauty for one evening… I felt so vain – loving any form of reflection (including the clean surface of my kitchen counter) where I could see my (beautiful) eyes and batting lashes!

Wedding icing...

I’m busy making delicious and decadent little cupcake decorations for the wedding. Sometimes it feels like I’m going a little overboard, but I just can’t help myself!!! I absolutely LOVE plastic icing... not to mention the glitter!!! Besides, it’s my wedding-party and I’ll go overboard, icing everything if I want to!!!!

Sneak peek...

We had a lovely weekend. I realized again how blessed I am to get married to a wonderful man. I am really looking forward to be part of his loving, caring family.

Saturday I did some wedding dress (window) shopping, but I can’t say too much... All I can show is a sneak peek...
